First up—mark your calendars, Emery. It’s that time again. Our Emery Village Movie in the Park night is back and it’s all about free family fun under the stars. Join us Friday, June 27th at Joseph Bannon Park (rain date June 28th). The event kicks off at 5 p.m., and the movie starts at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs, your blankets, and your appetite—local food vendors will be cooking up delicious bites while the kids enjoy free fun activities. Once again, it’s another year of pure fun for free, brought to you by the wonderful members of the Emery Village BIA.
Now, if you’re up for even more action this June, here are some awesome (and mostly free!) things to check out around Toronto:
Italian Heritage Month is in full swing! While you’ll find a ton of great programming across the city, why not keep it close to home? Celebrate by visiting our favourite local Italian gems like Grande Cheese Market, Domenic’s Meats, and Globe Meats on Signet. Create your own charcuterie masterpiece or try something new off the BBQ. Who needs downtown traffic?
Pride Month brings a full calendar of free events across Toronto, including the return of the Pride StreetFair on Church Street and, of course, the Pride Parade on June 30th. It’s colourful, joyful, and full of music, dancing, and togetherness.
The Bentway’s Roller Skating Rink reopens for the season. It’s pay-what-you-can (with free skate nights!), and they’ve got DJs spinning tunes while you cruise under the Gardiner. Retro vibes, guaranteed.
The Beaches Jazz Festival starts at the end of the month and runs into July. Catch some of Canada’s best musicians playing live in the east end—all outdoors, all free.
Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (June 28–30) at Nathan Phillips Square is a great way to meet artists, browse creative works, and get inspired. From painting to sculpture to digital art, it’s one of the coolest open-air art events of the year.
So, whether you’re rolling through downtown or lounging on a blanket in Emery, June’s shaping up to be packed with fun. Let the sunshine and the summer vibes roll in.
