Tucked away at 857 Fenmar Drive, Bath and Home Design is turning a shared family showroom into a destination for homeowners who want to refresh a bathroom without losing sight of their budget.
The business grew alongside AMS Kitchens, operated by Mariam Qhassemi’s father. The two companies share the Fenmar space: AMS concentrates on kitchens, while Bath and Home Design focuses on bathroom products. Qhassemi works in marketing and sales, although she describes her role in the family business as a little bit of everything—and very much a team effort.
The idea began with a straightforward observation. The community needed accessible bathroom solutions, and the showroom had room to display products that could help customers transform their spaces. Qhassemi said even one well-chosen faucet can lift the look of a room.
Customers are encouraged to browse the showroom before speaking with Qhassemi or another sales representative about their plans. Rather than imposing a design, the team helps shoppers find the pieces needed to bring their own ideas to life. The conversation begins with the room’s dimensions, the customer’s preferred look and the amount they hope to spend, allowing the team to focus on practical choices instead of overwhelming shoppers with every available option. Vanities, faucets, bathtubs and accessories are available across different styles and price points, from a modest update to a more detailed feature piece.
Affordability, Qhassemi explained, is about balancing quality with a price that works for the customer. Bath and Home Design sources products through several suppliers, including businesses in the GTA, and uses wholesale purchasing to keep prices approachable.
The showroom also reflects a warmer turn in bathroom design. Cool grey finishes are giving way to oak vanities, softer tones and gold accessories as customers look for rooms that feel welcoming as well as modern.
Before visiting, customers should measure their available space and consider whether they want a vanity that sits flush to the wall or appears to float. Those details help the team quickly narrow the choices.
