Looking out for each other in uncertain times.
As we move through the year, many Canadians are feeling a growing sense of uncertainty. Economic questions, shifting government policies, and the ongoing weight of tariffs are all making it harder to plan, to grow, and to feel settled. Decisions that affect our wallets and our businesses seem slow to come, and it’s natural to feel cautious about what’s next.
But here in Emery Village, there’s something steady we can count on—each other.
Ours is a community that knows how to care. We’ve always looked after our seniors, our neighbours, and those who need a little extra help. And that can’t stop now. In fact, it matters more than ever. A quick check-in on an elderly neighbour, a few hours volunteering, or simply being kind and present can have a big impact.
We all want to see our governments—municipal, provincial, and federal—lead with strength and vision. We hope they’ll support small business, invest in local jobs, and bring stability where they’re needed most. But while they work things out, let’s keep doing what we do best: looking out for our village.
Emery is growing. New families are arriving. Local businesses are trying hard to stay strong. And even in the middle of all this change, we remain a proud, hardworking, and caring neighbourhood.
So, as we face what’s ahead, let’s stay grounded. Keep your life simple. Focus on what matters. And when in doubt, just lend a hand.
Because no matter what happens in Ottawa or Queen’s Park, it’s what we do here in Emery that will shape our future.
We’re in this together.
