There’s a new reason to feel great on your feet in Emery Village. EZ Foot Clinic has opened its doors at 1885 Wilson Avenue, Unit 211, bringing top-quality, compassionate foot care to our neighbourhood. At the helm is Ai Luong, a dedicated Chiropodist and Foot Specialist, whose journey into the profession is as interesting as it is inspiring.
After high school, Ai initially pursued computer science, thinking it would be a practical path. But it didn’t feel right. 
“My English wasn’t strong then,” he said. “A friend suggested something math-based, so I went into computer science. But I knew quickly it wasn’t for me.” Encouraged by his girlfriend—now wife—he began exploring other options. A quick internet search meant for chiropractic led him, almost by accident, to chiropody. That little twist of fate turned into a career.
Ai completed his Life Sciences degree at the University of Waterloo, then went on to study chiropody at the Michener Institute in Toronto. Since becoming licensed in 2008, he has treated a wide range of conditions, from ingrown toenails and calluses to plantar warts, flat feet, fungal nails, and heel pain. But it’s not just skin and nails—Ai also focuses on biomechanical issues.
“We do gait analysis to understand how a person walks, how their foot moves—and whether that’s affecting their joints, back, or posture,” Ai explained. “And when needed, we create custom orthotics using traditional plaster casts. I still like the old-school method—it works.”
The new clinic is clean, bright, and professional. Ai runs the clinic with the help of his wife and a part-time receptionist on Saturdays. For now, visits are by appointment only—no walk-ins. But flexible scheduling and attentive care are part of what makes the clinic special.
“I’ve always liked this neighbourhood,” Ai said. “Every time I drove by, I noticed the flowers and the signs—Emery Village has a really nice feel to it. One day I saw space available and decided it was time.”
