Dear Resident,
I hope that you have all been enjoying the cool October air and display of colours that nature provides at this time of year. Also, wishing a happy and safe Halloween, Diwali, Sharad Navratri and Thanksgiving to those who celebrate.
I’d like to remind folks that the deadline to apply for this year’s Property Tax and Utility Rebate is October 31st. As Councillor, I understand that property taxes are a costly burden for Torontonians. That’s why I, along with some of my colleagues, started a program to bring relief to seniors and people with disabilities. For more information or assistance, please call my office.
In honour of Canada’s National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, the City of Toronto recently unveiled an Indigenous Spirit Garden monument at Toronto City Hall in a historic ceremony on September 30th. It is incredibly important that the City shows true solidarity with Indigenous peoples by honouring all victims of colonialism, including those of the oppressive residential schooling regime, as well as uplifting and respecting Indigenous voices.
