Councillor’s Corner - December 2023

Dear Resident,

In December, our office had the wonderful opportunity to host our Annual Holiday Toy Drive at Oakdale Community Centre, and it was a huge success! Collaborating with more than a dozen community groups, our volunteers wrapped hundreds of donated toys. These donated toys were distributed to various community groups in Humber-River Black Creek. We extend a heartfelt thanks to the Toronto Professional Firefighters Association for their generous toy donation, our devoted volunteers, skilled performers, community leaders for coming together and creating an event that will be remembered.

In other news, I am also excited to announce that Bike Share Toronto has newly installed bike dock stations around our neighbourhood. A couple new locations in this area include, Lindylou Rd, Lanyard Rd, and one in front of Oakdale Community Centre! These bike stations are an eco-friendly option of getting around. Bike Share Toronto has also launched their Reduced Fare Program, an opportunity to make this service more accessible to many. To find out if you are eligible for the program, visit: bikesharetoronto.com/reduced-fare/

Wishing you and your family a New Year filled with warmth, happiness, and good health.
