Councillor's Corner-Aug 2017

Dear Residents,

Many of you have told me that you are unhappy with the way things are done at City Hall, where issues are discussed behind closed doors and have very little community input.

I am letting you know that I have been working diligently both in and outside of Ward 7 - York West to address the community's concerns.

Over the years, the hardworking residents of Ward 7 have been successful through working in partnerships that include community organizations and businesses. Together, we have created a network that both strengthens our community and makes it vibrant and diverse.

It is with tremendous pride and honour that I represent the voices of the community and champion investments in our neighbourhoods. I believe that the most important duty as your City Councillor is to listen to your concerns and provide meaningful solutions. Therefore, in the coming months, I will be reaching out to residents through small "Meet & Greets" in all parts of the ward.

As we look ahead to the next few months when City Council resumes for the fall session, I will continue to fight for transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility on behalf of all hardworking taxpayers.

The residents that I have spoken to share the same optimistic outlook and are excited about the city's prospects for the rest of 2017 and beyond. I encourage everybody to be a part of their community and stay involved. By working together, we will make our city the best place to live, work and raise a family.

I hope that you will continue to write, e-mail or call my office to share your concerns or feedback.
