City of Toronto Christmas tree pick up

City of Toronto Christmas trees pickup

By Sean Delaney

New Year’s Day often marks the end of the holiday season for most people. It’s time to head back to work, stop eating chocolate for breakfast (maybe), and take down your beloved Christmas tree.

Christmas trees will be collected on regularly scheduled garbage collection day starting Jan 6 until January 31. Place the tree next to your Garbage Bin for pick-up.

Clear trees of plastic bags, tree bags, snow, and ice.

Christmas trees that are not collected in January must be placed out for yard waste pickup when yard waste collection resumes in the spring or taken to a drop-off depot. (Like brush and branches, Christmas trees do not need to be cut down to a maximum length of four feet.)
