Charity ball hockey in Emery

Opening Day Highlights from the Emery Village Minor Ball Hockey League.

At the Gord and Irene Risk Arena, on Saturday April, 26th Co-Founders and presidents of the league Mike Verrelli and Joe Mandarino hosted special guests Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti (left dropping puck), Calgary Flames Captain (in jersey) Mark Giordano and Anoinette de Jager from the office of Judy Sgro.

Councillor Mammoliti and Mark Giordano dropped the opening ceremonial faceoff.

The league has children registered in its inaugural season and Fiera Foods sponsored a snack for the players.

“We invite community residents to come out and watch games at Strathburn Park on Saturday mornings,” said Verrelli and Mandarino.

The Emery Village Minor Ball Hockey League is affiliated with the Ontario Ball Hockey Federation which is associated with Hockey Canada.
