Carmen celebrates 40 years

By Sean Delaney

Recently, the team at Carmen Transportation gathered under sunny skies to mark an incredible milestone — the company’s 40th anniversary. The celebration took place on September 23rd at their headquarters on Weston Road and was nothing short of memorable.

Founded four decades ago by Carmen Tarantini, the business has grown into one of Emery Village’s most respected transportation companies. Today, it continues to thrive under the leadership of Carmen’s son, Vince Tarantini, alongside his wife Sonia and their children — the third generation now proudly involved in the family enterprise.

The afternoon barbecue was a wonderful mix of good food, laughter, and heartfelt appreciation. Employees gathered under the event tent for a catered lunch that perfectly matched the day’s warm, sunny weather. Guests included representatives from MP Judy Sgro’s office, Amy Calderon, MPP Tom Rakocevic, and Ward 7 Councillor Anthony Perruzza, each offering remarks celebrating the company’s success and its strong community ties.

As several speakers noted, Carmen Transportation’s achievements over the past forty years are the result of hard work, integrity, and a deep commitment to both customers and staff. The company has earned a reputation for reliability and service that extends far beyond Emery Village, becoming a trusted name across the industry.

On behalf of the Emery Village BIA, local residents, and the entire community, we extend our warmest congratulations to Vince, Sonia, and the Tarantini family. Here’s to continued growth, safe travels, and many more years of success on the road ahead.
