Building 31 Division: Building safe streets together

By Deanne Taylor

Crime prevention is not just for January — it’s a year-round commitment we all share.

January is Crime Stoppers Month, and while the month is nearly over, it’s a good time to remember that the program is active year-round and continues to play an important role in keeping our community safe.

At 31 Division, we know police officers can’t be everywhere at once. That’s why the eyes and ears of our community matter so much. When residents notice something that looks out of place and choose to speak up, it helps prevent crime, protect victims, and keep neighbourhoods safe.

Crime Stoppers offers a safe and anonymous way to share information. You do not have to give your name, and Crime Stoppers is not the police. Tips can be submitted by phone or online, and anonymity is always protected. Information provided through Crime Stoppers has helped advance investigations and prevent crimes across our city.

Even though January is coming to a close, Crime Stoppers remains just as important for the next eleven months and beyond. Community safety is a shared responsibility, and small actions can make a meaningful difference.

If your safety is ever at immediate risk, always call 911.
