Emery Village BIA Executive Director’s message
As we prepare for the return to school, we’d like to remind all drivers to remain alert and cautious, especially around school zones. These areas will soon be filled with students, parents, and school staff during busy drop-off and pick-up times. Let’s all do our part to ensure a safe and smooth transition into the school year. Parents, please review crossing safety and pedestrian awareness with your children. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers, please give yourselves the extra time needed for school drop-off and pick-up. It goes a long way in keeping everyone safe!
Please be very mindful of blocking residential driveways when parking on the street and waiting for your children. You need to allow ample space for our residents to enter and exit their driveways without blocking them.
Back-to-School Tips for a Strong Start
The beginning of a new school year is an exciting time full of fresh possibilities! To help make the transition easier for families, here are a few simple tips:
- Get back into a routine: Start adjusting sleep schedules a week in advance to ease into school mornings.
- Organize school supplies early: Label everything to avoid mix-ups and last-minute scrambles.
- Plan healthy lunches and snacks: Keeping kids energized and focused throughout the day starts with nutritious meals.
- Set goals together: Talk with your children about what they’re looking forward to and any goals they want to achieve this year.
- Stay connected: Join your school’s parent council or subscribe to school newsletters to stay informed and involved.
Wishing everyone a safe, happy, and successful start to the new school year. Let’s keep the momentum of community spirit going strong as we move into fall.
Warm regards,
Sandra Farina
