Executive Director's message-Nov 2020

As of November 2020, the City of Toronto has gone back into lockdown, which means that it is essential to stay extra safe during the holiday season. Try to limit your gatherings to your inner circle only for the safety of your loved ones.

Here are a list of health and safety rules to remember:

Always wear a mask.

Stay six feet apart from others.

Wash or sanitize your hands after touching any surface.

Clean all surfaces often.

Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.

Restrict non-essential travel and stay home if you experience symptoms.

With the holidays approaching, we encourage the community to shop local whenever possible to support the Emery Village community during these difficult times.

There are a variety of shops in the BIA which offer online shopping options, and others with physical distancing measures in store, where you can buy all sorts of gifts. Supporting local restaurants by ordering delivery is another great way to support the community, and there are a variety of delicious cuisines to try in the BIA this holiday season.

The 31 Division police will once again run their annual toy drive this year and are accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys for underprivileged children aged newborn to 17 years old in our community.

Toys can be dropped off at 31 Division Police - 40 Norfinch Drive. Please remember to practice social distancing when doing drop-offs.

If you have any food donations that you can spare, we have listed a few local food banks below:

Bathurst-Finch Community Food Bank.

North York Harvest Food Bank.

Society for the Living Foodbank.

Thistletown Community Services Unit.

From everyone at Emery Village BIA, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season, and look forward to connecting in the new year.

Sincerely,

Executive Director

Sandra Farina
