“The Service will be launching the annual Fall Provincial Seat belt Campaign, with a focus on back seat passengers and booster seats “Do the back seat buckle – Back seat passengers, always wear your seatbelt” and “Booster seats – Filling the gap between a child car seat and a seat belt.” The campaign will commence on Wednesday Sept. 23 and conclude on Friday, Oct. 9.
It is aimed at getting those drivers and passengers who do not utilize their seatbelts, to buckle up. Using seat belts is the single most effective way to reduce vehicle related injuries and fatalities by ensuring that occupants remain within the vehicle and in their seats.
Police officers will pay attention to the proper restraint of all vehicles including any children in the vehicles.”
