Emery Village BIA Executive Director’s message
With the first of the New Year behind us, we look forward to a fresh start to a very busy year ahead with new projects, new special events, free business seminars, various new business grant opportunities, and connecting with many new and long-time Emery business owners.
While the construction of the Finch West LRT continues and has brought us challenges in the form of traffic disruptions and frustrations, Metrolinx & Mosaic are about to start the last phase of the project which will mostly be in the Emery area and where we can expect some staggering road closures in the months ahead, (weather permitting).
We continue to work with both Metrolinx and Mosaic on mitigation measures and information sharing to lessen the burden on both our business owners and residents. We encourage our Emery Businesses and Residents to shop local and help support our businesses through this challenging time.
In the next few weeks, the Emery Village BIA business owners/operators will be receiving information packages by direct mail, which will include valuable information on grant opportunities for businesses, as well as a detailed information and registration packages for our upcoming Annual Emery Job Fair scheduled for this Spring of 2024.
This is an excellent opportunity for both large and small businesses to connect with skilled and talented job seekers and because last years Job Fair was a success and our Emery businesses were very pleased with the turnout and outcome, we will be hosting the Job Fair again this year.
If your business is or will be hiring for any positions, or if you have been experiencing difficulties in connecting with job seekers, we encourage you to participate.
We kindly ask that you review these packages carefully as some of the grants may have a short and firm deadline to apply and they may or may not be available to our Emery businesses again next year.
Should you have any questions or require any assistance, please feel free to contact Al Ruggero- Project Manager, at our BIA office at: 416-744-7242
Or through email at: al@emeryvillagebia.ca
