Dear Resident,
September is upon us and a lot has been happening in Emery Village. I hope that you have all been enjoying the final days of summer and enjoying the transition into fall.
Recently, my office joined city staff and community members for a ribbon-cutting which launched a brand-new park on Isaac Devins Boulevard, in the Sheppard and Weston area. Residents were able to test out the new playground and partake in fun activities for kids including face painting and an entertainer. It’s important that families in all areas of our community have adequate access to parks and recreational resources within walking distance. I have always and will continue to push for our communities to get the amenities we need and deserve.
Also, as Councillor I understand that property taxes are a costly burden for Torontonians. That’s why I, along with some of my colleagues, started a program to bring relief to seniors and people with disabilities. If you have not yet applied, there is still time. This year’s applications are open until October 31, 2024. My office continues to help residents apply for this property tax increase cancellation. For more information or assistance, please call my office.
