Celebrate 60 years of stories at Woodview Park Library

By Sean Delaney

Join the Woodview Park Library on September 28th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. as they mark their 60th anniversary. The library is located at 16 Bradstock Rd, at the corner of Bradstock and Weston Rd.

Diana Rothbauer, the esteemed Branch Head, is excited to welcome everyone for an afternoon packed with fun and excitement.

“Bring the kids along for face painting, indulge in some delicious snacks, and don’t miss out on our special celebration cake. We have games and prizes to keep you entertained and a photo booth to capture all the fun moments. Plus, you can take home a piece of history with many books on sale.”

For the kids, the first 30 will receive an orange t-shirt to honour Truth and Reconciliation Day. Paints will be supplied to have the shirts painted at the event.

This venue has a rich history as the first community branch in North York and has been a cornerstone for local learning and community engagement since it opened in 1964. From its early days in a rented facility to simple refurbishments aimed at enhancing community access and services, Woodview Park Library has continuously evolved to meet the needs of its community. Most of all, Woodview Park Library has a great spirit and drive to serve and likely houses more books per square inch than many of the larger facilities.

The entire Emery Village community is invited to celebrate this incredible milestone. For any questions or to RSVP, please call the library during business hours at: 416-395-5960

They look forward to seeing you there for a day of celebration and community spirit.
