Emery Village BIA Director’s Welcome

On behalf of the Emery Village BIA, I wish to welcome the Emery Village Voice on the occasion of its first edition. We hope, in the coming months that you enjoy the newspaper as much as we do, and in seeing in its pages the exciting neighbourhood, great businesses and characters that make up Emery Village.

The newspaper will tell the ongoing story of Emery Village, its people, places, and activities that fill the air all around us and our pioneer heritage is a constant and beloved echo. It’s a story of success.

The increased investment in the community we are seeing and the recognition that this area is a great place to live, with a comparatively low crime rate and great arterial road access, makes this area a “hidden gem” as some have called it. But, it won’t be hidden much longer!

The upcoming Wine Fest in Humber Summit on September 14 will celebrate not only the community, but also the beautification and re-launch of Plunkett and Satterly Roads. Each received new surfacing, widened parking inlays, new trees and lamp posts and “Humber Summit” street banners. Come have a look!

There are lots of things going on in Emery Village. We invite you to live, work, shop and play here. It’s a dynamic community that is growing closer, coming together to have fun (as the summer’s Movie in the Park program showed us) and it is a community that is increasingly finding its voice and spirit.

Congratulations to the Emery Village Voice for increasing the power and the volume of that voice.
