On Tuesday, January 11, the Emery Village BIA held its Annual General Meeting (AGM).
This year was the first time in its history that the AGM was held virtually.
“It is unfortunate that like many organizations and workplaces under COVID-19 restrictions, we cannot gather in place,” said BIA Executive Director Sandra Farina. “So while we miss the opportunity to greet and be with our members in person, the online meeting fulfilled our responsibility to share our year in review, present the planned budget for approval, and preview the activities and programs for this new and challenging year to be met with resolve and commitment.”
The meeting also afforded members an opportunity to have questions answered and to hear from the elected officials who represent Humber River-Black Creek including the Hon. Judy Sgro, Member of Parliament, Tom Rakocevic, Member of the Provincial Parliament, and Anthony Perruzza, Toronto Councillor and BIA Board Member.
“In addition to bringing us news from government, we welcomed their well wishes to our BIA, the Emery business community, and employees.”
