The Emery Village Voice has been playing a key role in keeping the community informed by publishing the monthly activity calendars for our two local libraries, Humber Summit and Woodview Park. Thanks to this effort, more residents are getting involved, and word has it that attendance at library events has been steadily growing.
Toronto Public Libraries are more than just books—they’re vibrant community hubs offering a range of activities and services for all ages. Residents of Emery Village have two great local branches, the Humber Summit Library and Woodview Park Library. Whether you’ve visited before or haven’t been in a while, it’s time to take a fresh look.
These libraries offer much more than just reading materials. There’s something for everyone, from free Wi-Fi to various programs for kids, teens, and adults. Humber Summit Library offers regular events like toddler storytime, family game nights, and even computer training sessions (Toronto Public LibraryWoodview Park Library also features diverse programs, from Makers Clubs to youth advisory groups, making it a great place for both education and creative expression (Toronto Central Healthline).
Reading is still a big reason to visit, of course. Whether it’s grabbing a new bestseller or exploring the shelves for hidden gems, reading stimulates the mind and can be a fun escape for both kids and adults. Libraries make it easy to dive into a world of knowledge without spending a cent.
Beyond books, libraries provide access to digital resources, job search help, ESL programs, and even musical instrument lending. And with Toronto Public Library’s free museum and attraction passes, you can explore places like the Toronto Zoo without paying admission.
In short, libraries are essential spaces that foster learning, creativity, and community. Drop by the Humber Summit or Woodview Park branches to see what’s new—you’ll be surprised at how much there is to offer.
