Mad Science

Tuesday, July 9

2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Discover the wonders of chemical science. Watch crystals form in a water glass and see acetone reduce foam to a puddle of goo. Get your hands dirty with a non-Newtonian fluid and use hydrophobic compounds to keep things dry even when submerged in water. Take-home some Silly Putty. For ages 6 to 12.

I Spy Guessing Contest

Our “I Spy” contests are very popular, so don’t miss our latest one that takes space exploration to a new level. Count up the outer space objects, fill in a ballot form, and if you have the most correct guesses, you’ll win a prize. Open to ALL ages.

Constellation Game

Wednesday, July 31, 2 to 3 p.m.

Join Woodview Park in creating a great fun game. Roll tiny jaw-breaker type candies around on a star scape until they find their way onto a constellation. The idea is easy enough, but getting all the little balls in place can be tricky. That, however, is the fun of the challenge! All supplies are provided. No registration. Ages 7+

Parent & Child Drop-In Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Join Woodview Park for two hours of play through songs, books, finger play, rhymes and lots of free play time. This program is facilitated by Northwood Neighbourhood Services. A healthy snack is provided for the children. For children 0-5 years of age who must be supervised.
