Make Your Future 2 (MYF2) will happen on April 25th at Westview Centennial Secondary School from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
It’s a combination job fair/post-secondary information event and will feature exhibits from numerous private and public sector organizations. Some are currently looking to hire young people; others offer training for specific sectors which are hiring immediately; and others are offering guidance and information on how Grade 11 and Grade 12 students can plan a successful career path.
“We want these young people to recognize they have gifts and talents that employers want. They don’t have to be intimidated when they aim for success,” said returning sponsor Kevin Green, president of Greenwin Inc.
Intelligarde International Inc. and the Ontario Construction Secretariat are also financial sponsors of MYF2.
Additional new exhibitors include the Ontario Landscapers Association and Ontario’s agricultural/agri-food industry.
Special guests at MYF2 will include a Canadian Forces member who graduated from Westview Centennial, as well as a police officer who graduated from Westview.
Information about careers in 28 construction trades will be available, along with the large training trailer used by LIUNA Local 183, the construction union responsible for a wide range of apprenticeship programs in Ontario.
Grade 11 and 12 students will attend from schools in the surrounding area. For more information and to register for MYF2, visit the website at:
