Hard to go undefeated in Heavyweight Division

On March 28, 2015, a knock-out victory for boxer Donovan “Razor” Ruddock was proudly celebrated and Razor now has scheduled his next bout. It will take place May 22 in the Colisée Isabelle Basseur in Sant-Jean-sur Richelieu in Quebec against heavyweight Eric Barrak.

Last month we unfortunately reported an inaccurate boxing record for Mr. Ruddock.

Donovan Razor Ruddock’s career record is 39-5-1. (This is the type of man that you don’t want to be in the ring with or report inaccurate statistics for!) .We are big fans of Donovan here in Emery Village so let’s get the record straight.

Razor’s actual record in his matches has him with only five losses and all have been debatable. These include two against Mike Tyson, one to Lennox Lewis and one to Tommy Morrison. In all his recorded defeats, Razor Ruddock has not been someone who has ever lost decisively. He’s always been standing and ready to continue. Razor’s true record in the ring is 45 total fights with 39 wins and 30 of them winning by knock-out, five losses and one draw. Only one heavyweight fighter in history went his entire career without a loss and retired as an undefeated Heavyweight Champion of the World, Rocky Marciano. One fighter came within one fight of tying Marciano’s record but recorded a controversial defeat against Leon Spinks’ brother, Michael. That fighter was Larry Holmes. Stay tuned.
