Lee, it’s wonderful to be able to share such a special birthday with someone like you. You have a heart of gold and are so warm, loving, and kind to everyone you know.
For those who don’t know Lee, she has always taken community commitment and activism to a higher level and is a shining example for all. She is an Emery Village resident who helps make her community a better place to live.
Lee has lived in the same Emery Village home for almost 60 years. For 20 of those (minus two years for a Covid hiatus), Jackson has hosted a local community BBQ, free for all to attend.
“I’m so glad that we have such precious memories to share about you with our community.”
To help celebrate Lee’s 90th birthday and make it one to remember, she was joined by MPP Tom Rakocevic and staffer Alida Troini, Ward 7 Councillor Anthony Perruzza, and son, as well as Sandra Farina, Executive Director of the Emery Village BIA and daughter Christina. Tom and Anthony presented official scrolls to commemorate the date, while Sandra brought Lee her favourite meal, takeout from our very own, Panino Cappuccino
Being a mother, teacher, nurse, and community activist, Jackson has never sat idly by. Some would tell you that she never missed a 31 Division CPLC (Citizen Police Liaison Committee) meeting in 22 years. The CPLC is tasked with identifying and understanding problems in the community and finding ways to fix them. Public input and support are vital. Lee was always there to lend her comments and ideas.
Lee, keep on being you. The entire Emery community hopes your 90th birthday turns out just as special as you are.
