Executive Director’s message - November 2023

Emery Village BIA

Executive Director’s message

Thank you to all those who attended our Annual Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 11th, 2023, at Joseph Bannon Park. It is wonderful to see that with each passing year, our community takes the time to show its gratitude and respect to all the brave men and women who fought for our freedom and served our country.

I would also like to thank the many officers from 31 Division Police, Inspector Desrochers, and Superintendent Andy Singh for paying tribute to our fallen soldiers. All officers stood in salute, followed by a minute of silence.

Special thanks to The Emery Village Business Improvement Area Businesses for the refreshments and to Upper Crust for the wonderful and delightful pastries enjoyed by many, and to our community volunteers for all your help that day. It’s wonderful, dedicated, and hardworking volunteers like yourselves who make it possible for us to host our events every year, and for that, we are very grateful.

With the holiday season soon approaching and a time for giving, The Emery Village BIA will once again carry on our tradition of collecting donations for our community’s families and seniors in need.

Businesses interested in participating and donating any food or toys can email us at: info@emeryvillagebia.ca to schedule a pick-up date & time. Business Donation Pick-Up date will be from December 13th to 15th between the hours of 9 am to 3 pm.

Residents interested in donating any perishable foods or toys can do so by placing their donation in a plastic bag and dropping it off in one of the boxes provided in our lobby located at 1017 Wilson Ave. at your convenience from Monday, December 4th, to Friday, December 15th, from 9 am to 5 pm. We cannot accept any used or untagged toys or clothing for health reasons.

Any used clothing/toys can be dropped off in the rear parking lot at 1017 Wilson Ave in the designated Diabetes Foundation Box.

We wish you all a warm, healthy, and peaceful holiday season.
