Dear Emery BIA members,
The staff and board of the Emery Village BIA are actively working to support the membership during this challenging time, working closely with the City of Toronto and relevant agencies to ensure the health and safety of all our community stakeholders.
We believe our primary role in this time of crisis is to ensure the Emery community can access accurate, up-to-the-minute information from the appropriate expert sources. This includes information for support and financial assistance programs from the Government of Canada, which are also listed and updated frequently on our website at: www.emeryvillagebia.ca
As stewards of the Emery community, we are focused on making sure our members and community remain healthy and safe.
The BIA has prepared an Emergency Security Plan for the Emery BIA members in the event of a government implemented lockdown.
In the event of a lockdown, the BIA is prepared and will immediately commence an emergency Security Patrol Plan, which will consist of the following:
• Two day-time patrol vehicles from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (New addition)
• Four evening patrol vehicles from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Two additional vehicles)
These additions will allow for 24/7 security patrol cars to drive more effectively though our business area and registered properties, as they complete their scheduled rounds.
We are giving a friendly reminder to all business owners, operators, and tenants that this is an excellent time to call your personal business security alarm company to ensure that they have the correct emergency contact information on file in the event of a call. Updating this information will allow them to contact the proper person for directions and without any delays in dispatching police.
In the event of an emergency, you can reach VP Protection Dispatch at (416) 218-3226 or (647) 202-3022 (Please note that this service is for BIA business members exclusively).
Although our office is now closed, we are all working safely from home, so please feel free to contact us should you have any questions. We can be reached by email 24/7 at: info@emeryvillagebia.ca
Or by phone at (416)-744-7242 during business hours Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The City of Toronto recently announced a 60 day grace period on all property tax and utility bill payments for residents and businesses. For more information on city support programs for your business, please visit: https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/economic-support-recovery/
I wish you and your family good health.
Sincerely,
