Emery Village BIA Executive Director’s message - Oct 2015

The leaves on the trees have changed colour and are falling to the ground. The temperature is mild for this time of year giving our community the opportunity to discover the nearby trails and parks of Emery Village. In Emery we are always happy to put our best foot forward and highlight natures’ beauty to our residents and community members. Celebrate the fall and help your little ones explore nature and get outdoors.

Engaging children (Emery’s future residents and business owners) in homemade crafts is always fun. Ideas like making pinecone people with googly eyes wearing tiny felt hats and scarves; or pressed leaf masks that can be worn for fun around the house where kids can imagine themselves as forest sprites;or tree and leaf rubbings that can be done directly in a notebook using the side of a coloured pencil or a crayon. Families can look back uponthese simple crafts as little ways to remember happy moments and create long lasting memories of the season.

There will be a Remembrance Day commemorative event to remember those who have died in the Canadian Armed Forces. Please come and join us on Wednesday, November 11th beginning at 10:30 a.m. located in Emery’s Joseph Bannon Park (65 Mary Chapman Blvd.) Lest we Forget.

Also, keep in mind that one of the biggest holidays is right around the corner and Emery Village wants you to keep your eyes peeled for the streetlighting and decorations around town. Lighting décor is to begin sometime in the third week of November; we cannot wait to see the lights shine brightly bringing our vibrant community together.

Sincerely,

Sandra Farina

Executive Director
