Dear Resident,
Large property tax increases make life harder for everyone. That’s why I vote against them.
At the City we started a program to help seniors and people with disabilities have these increases returned to them. For years I have hosted clinics to help those eligible gather the required documents and submit their application.
You are eligible for a rebate on this year’s property tax increase if you are:
Over 65 OR
Living with a disability
AND
Your total household income is below $62,000
If you are eligible, please bring the following documents along with you to the clinic and my staff and I will assist you with an application:
-Document Checklist
-Notice of Assessment from Canada Revenue Services
-Proof of age (via Government-issued ID, if applying for the first time)
-Property Tax Bill
-Utility (Water) Bill
-Statement of Old Age Security (T4A, Old Age Supplement)
-Statement of Canada Pension Plan Benefits (T4A(P))
