Dear Resident,
I am excited to share that the park enhancements at two of our local parks have been completed. Both Lanyard Park and St. Lucie Park have newly installed playgrounds and adult fitness pods for an opportunity for the whole family to stay active outdoors. I got to visit the parks myself and enjoyed the colourful and functional amenities it had to offer.
I highly encourage you to visit these two renovated parks with your family and friends:
• Lanyard Park: 138 Lanyard Rd.
• St. Lucie Park: 3300 Weston Rd.
In other news, after hosting four different Property Tax Rebate clinics around our neighborhood, we were able to assist more than 200 seniors in applying for the Property Tax, Water, and Solid Waste Rebate program. Completing this application allows applicants to cancel their property tax increase from 2022.
If you are a senior or a person on a fixed income, and you own your home, you may qualify for the property tax rebate. The deadline is October 31st, 2023. I invite you to reach out to my office to book an appointment with us.
To receive the rebate, you must have a combined household income of $55,000 or less. Once the application is submitted and approved you can expect to receive a cheque directly from the City of Toronto at the end of the year for the balance of whatever your property tax increase was this year. The application also includes a rebate for low water users that can also give back some money to households that qualify.
You can get more details for the program or apply online.
