Councillor Mammoliti – Rememberance...

Remembrance of Rob Ford

I would like to wish the Ford family my deepest condolences in this very difficult time and to let them know that I and everyone around me is deeply saddened and will pray for Rob and his family.

What can be said about the big framed powerful figure that is Rob Ford? For one thing, he exemplified the definition of what it means to be a fighter and to stand up for what you believe in.

Throughout the many years of knowing him, he taught me what it means to be true to my roots and fight for what the right thing to do is. Rob’s ethics have also taught me how to be honest with people and to never stray from doing or saying what needed to be said or done, even if that meant taking criticism. Throughout the years, Rob has especially taught me to never worry about what anyone has to say about me or my character and to just push ahead under the most difficult times. Whether it was in helping me fight the demons in my life, he has taught me how to recognize my flaws and fix them as well.

Rob Ford, to a greater extent has taught all of us who work in the city how to listen even though sometimes we don’t want or have the stomach to do so. He has shown this city the value of integrity and how to stick to moral principles in running a city. Rob, through his undeniable appreciation for the taxpayer and common citizen, has taught his colleagues at the City of Toronto how to look for every opportunity before asking the taxpayers to foot the bill for anything.

Rob Ford will be missed dearly at City Council and amongst this city incredibly. His voice and message will continue to be heard by the City of Toronto and will resonate forever. May God bless Rob Ford for the leadership and love he has shown at the City of Toronto and for the residents who live within it. The void he has left cannot be filled and his legacy in Toronto politics will not be matched. While some of those few may continue to criticize, be rest assured that Rob’s message will be defended and advocated.

Love,

Giorgio Mammoliti.
