Another successful Emery Village food and toy drive

By Sean Delaney

Putting a smile on a child’s face is important this time of year.

Thankfully, numerous local businesses help contribute to the many community toy and food drives. The wish is that all children experience the wonder and joy of receiving a gift, and families can celebrate the festive season with a hearty meal.

In partnership with Toronto Police Services and the Emery Village BIA, Delta Downsview collected non-perishable food items and children’s toys for families in need this holiday season. Thanks to the generosity of guests and staff, Delta Downsview donated hundreds of food items and a mountain of toys and games, as well as various gift cards and $855 in cash.

“These items mean a lot to the families that receive them,” said Jessica Baker, Operations Manager, Delta Bingo Downsview. “I am so proud of the impact we can have in the community, at a time when it’s needed most.”

And there are so many other businesses that showed their amazing generosity this year.

“On behalf of the Emery BIA and community, we would like to thank the following Emery Businesses for all their generosity and continued support,” said Sandra Farina, Executive Director of the Emery Village BIA.

Farina listed Excelsior Foods, Fiera Foods, Upper Crust, August Group, Maxx Liquidation Solutions, Accu-Plane Enterprises Inc., Delta Bingo, Luxor Homes, c, Zerem Electrical Services and Seaboard Transportation Group with more still calling in to contribute.
